Airsoft Photography: Brügger & Thomet MP9 / by Tracy Nystrom

A friend of mine picked up this replica B&T MP9 gas blow-back airsoft gun in a trade recently and wanted some high-quality photo's shot of it that captured the gritty, raw, and urban aspects of the terrain he and his team train and play in.

The shoot involved only two Canon speed lights (600EX-RT), one with a 24" Impact Quickbox, the other was bare shooting into a 36" circular reflector.  The background is the concrete floor in a barn on my parents property.  The camera used is a Canon 5D Mark III, with the Canon 24mm f/1.4 L-Series Prime Lens, and the Canon Battery Grip.  It was adjusted lightly in Adobe Lightroom 4 to get the dynamic range I wanted.

After the shoot, he posted these photos on his Facebook and immediately started getting offers for it.  He sold it for a nice profit and has since picked up another airsoft gun!
